Chelation Round 3 – Cancelled

DJ has 101 C fever after two and half years again. The last time was in October 2014 when we gave her culturelle on a friends advice but we stopped after the fever as doctor said no.

This time too, we had increased her gutpro probiotic from 50 billion to 100 billion last week. Adding to that perhaps her immune system was low due to ACC. And the weather has been fluctuating and has been raining. All in all she is active and still has appetite. Yet, we decided it’s best to stop this round of chelation.

Until next time…

Chelation round 2

This round went well, except for a brief scare where we got late to the medication by 20 mins due to the soccer practice. We could not give the last dose due to school. She is usually a bit more irritated on the round than off. But it wasn’t as bad as last time.

After the round she wrote/traced : KING and KONG in the book. We didn’t even teach her that. She is saying “Dog Bite me/you” when we pass the neighbor’s dog where it bit her about a month ago. This is the first time she is referring/mentioning about something in past. Again, nothing huge but definitely some improvement. She is even trying to read, though still not very good at it.

Chelation round 1 week 1

Well we started the ever dreaded yet awaited phase: round 1 of chelation.

My excitement of receiving the Acc book died as soon as i turned its first page. It isnt a easy read and I couldn’t follow it without rereading multiple times. I was thankful we had a maps doctor who figured out the dosages and the timings and the supplements for us.  I cheated my way through the book but it should be a good reference i hope. The Facebook group with Andrew Cutler in it is a great hope/ reference too.

My primary concern with Acc was (apart from its obvious reason of removing metals from body and brain and dangers it might pose) what if nothing happens. My hope for seeing her get better get dimnished. My not so believer in biomed husband loosing faith in alternate medicine. I hate that name, there is no regular medicines apart from risiperidone. Anyways, so round 1 went well.

It went as expected, quite uneventful. We did see some silly laughs at the end of the round. And some very minor regression i think. She got irritated easily, whined and grunted which she stopped a while ago.

We started on Thursday evening and ended it on Sunday afternoon after 18 doses. Tomorrow, friday we would start our second round. God bless us all.

Diaries of our journey

Our journey as parents took a special turn on receiving diagnosis of autism. Its been 4 years since. We have come a long way and have a long way to go. We hope these journals would act as way finders to help us guide if we are lost.

With so many therapists and medications we are not really sure if it’s helping or not. Well here goes nothing…

Dj my beautiful 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with persuasive developmental disorder- not otherwise specified (PDD- NOS) in February 2013 in India. She later recieved diagnosis of Autism and speech delay in July 2013 in usa. She was 2 and half years old and non verbal. We started Aba therapy in October 2013 and she spoke her first word “up” in December 2014.

We started speech therapy which helped. And joined in her swimming classes.  There were many others things i could / should have done but well I suppose thats past for you.

In august 2014 Dj started public pre-school. She was happy and never cried to go to school. At end if day 1 We did have issues/ crying as she didn’t know the meaning of wait and that she can only go to mom when teachers asks to go. She cried well after school, about 20 minutes as teacher showed her how. We loved her teacher who was an experienced special ed. Dj could label words and tell her name and repeat simple words. We visited India for two month vacation and when we were back devya knew all her alphabets and she could say a for apple, a for ant all the way to z for zebra and z for zoo. But we did run into issues with complaince and not wanting to go to school after the trip. Swings before school started helped. And she was back to her self in few weeks time. Grocery store trips was still tough and so were her temper tantrums.
